What is AnchorsAway?

AnchorsAway is a 101 college level course in the Christian worldview. In the first two weeks students will learn what a worldview is and the 5 questions that define our worldview. Then they will learn what the 5 major worldviews at work in the world are and how each system answers the 5 basic worldview questions. These two weeks are critical and foundational in understanding how and why people value the things we value and why we act the ways we do. Over the next four weeks we undergo a deep study of the nature of God from the bible, why the bible is reliable, the divinity of Christ and how we can know and believe He truly rose from the grave. Then we will examine who a Christian is and ask ourselves, “Am I one?”. The final 2 weeks we will take a deep dive into what a covenant is and why it matters, and examine the basics of Islam; what they believe and why and why we ought to love and share Christ with the Muslims we get to know.

By the final course they ought how to understand the difference between the worldview they hope to hold and the one they practically live out in the moment to moment. The goal of the course is to see young Christians live passionately, live Christianly and love others unconditionally, for the glory of God AND to help those of other faiths, or no faith, to understand why the Christian faith is not only rational but why Jesus Christ is deserving of their full faith.

The scriptural core of this course is found in – I Peter 3:15

“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

By God’s grace we will.
