What is the PAX Center
The mission of the PAX Center is to help those dealing with difficult life circumstances. To foster positive community participation by providing an environmentally sound facility for arts, education, recreation and most importantly human services in order to increase opportunities for personal and collective growth within our community. Our desire is to provide a place of peace and demonstrate love, hope and compassion. Please visit the PAX Center website for more information.
The menu is already planned and the food is already purchased.
Along with volunteers, we provide drinks and desserts.
What areas are there for volunteering?
Kitchen Assistant
We could use 3 people to help in the kitchen assisting the coordinator in preparing food, main course, and salads.
Volunteer time for this position is from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
Preparation
These volunteers assist the coordinator in plating the desserts, preparing the beverages, setting utensils, and anything else that is needed for set up. We could use 3 volunteers for this position.
Volunteer time for this position is from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Server
We can use 4 people to help bring food in, put away any unused food, and anything else that is needed. We could use four volunteers for this position.
Volunteer time for this position is from 4:45pm to 6:15pm.
Host
This is one of the most important opportunities of a PAX Center night. These volunteers eat with the patrons. They visit and listen to the patrons. We would love to have 4 to 6 volunteers for this position.
Volunteer time for this position is from 4:45pm to 6:30pm.
Kitchen Clean Up
This job is just like it sounds. These volunteers are needed to help clean up all of the dishes and food, sweep, and take out the trash. We could use 2 volunteers for this position.
Volunteer time for this position is from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
Clean Up
If you like to be behind the scenes, this is the job for you. We need your help getting the PAX Center cleaned up and ready for the next ministry event to happen. This volunteer position is responsible for the entire main area of the building - sweeping, clearing tables, putting away salt and pepper, etc. We could use 3 volunteers for this position.
